Rocky Mountain National Park Scenic Loop is 164 miles of pure mountain adventure. This four-hour drive will take you from Denver to Estes Park, through Rocky Mountain National Park on the magnificent Trail Ridge Road and then through Grand Lake, Granby and Fraser to Winter Park.
Along the way, you can take in the alpine views, take a hike, or try to spot the wildlife of Forest Canyon Overlook. Completed in 1933, Trail Ridge Road crosses the park from east to west and connects the cities of Estes Park and Grand Lake, Colo. The road winds through countless 12,000-foot peaks, high alpine tundra, and some of the best views of Rocky Mountain National Park.
You can drive from one end of Rocky Mountain National Park to the other in about 2 hours if you don't make any stops. Wonders abound within Rocky Mountain National Park, many of which can be enjoyed without putting on a backpack or going inside.
